Where do I find the correct declination for my area so I can set my Wristop Computer?
Local declination, either E or W, is usually marked on maps with one-degree or half-degree accuracy.
Is one unit more durable than another (metal case vs. plastic)?
The mineral crystal face of the units with metal case is more scratch proof than the plastic face. Technically all units are equally durable.
Why does the display get slow in cold temperatures?
The liquid crystal material of the LCD solidifies in cold temperature. This is typical for all LCD displays.
Do you have a Suunto watch that gives you the different sea tides with a barometer?
At the moment we do not have a product designed to measure tidewater and the only way to do this would be to measure the altitude change of the sea level. This can be done with most our products as they have both altimeter and barometer. Our product development is continuously working on new projects and you can follow-up on any new products at www.suunto.com under Products -> New products.
Do you have a product which would be suitable for paragliding?
Suunto Wristop Computers are intended for recreational use and outdoor activities but should not be used to acquire measurements when, for example, paragliding. Unfortunately we do not have any wristops aimed for paragliding at the moment.
Can the rotating compass ring be purchased as a replacement?
Unfortunately the bezel is not sold as an accessory and to have it replaced you need to send your wristop to service. If your warranty is valid, please take your watch to the retailer from where you bought it. If this is not possible you can also contact the importer of Suunto products in your country for more information about how to send the watch to service. You can locate importers at www.suunto.com/dealer. In the Dealer Locator, choose your country and the type of product in question. Please note that whether the watch can be repaired under warranty is always determined at our service once we have seen the watch.
Is it normal that my Suunto wristop face condensates?
The watches are always thoroughly tested at the factory in order to make sure that they are waterproof before release. There is always a small amount of air inside the watch which might be seen as condensation in rapid temperature changes from warm to cold.
